My Dress!

So, my dress came in last week and I went in to try it on today.  I was a little worried I wouldn't be able to fit into it....(I ordered a size smaller than I originaly tried on.)  But, it was actually too big!!  I was a little shocked and asked if they ordered the wrong size!  I'm happy it was big...I have been trying really hard to eat better and work out more, so it's paying off!  I was just hoping for less alterations, but it looks like there will be some.  I'll have to see how it fits in June...thats when they will start altering it!

The best part of today is... I still love the dress!!  :)

HyVee Rocks!!

So, I haven't posted anything for a while and I'm getting a few complaints! So, I thought I would update you all on the catering, cake and flowers.  We have decided to go with HyVee for all 3!!  They are awesome and they give a discount if you use them for all services.  We went and sampled food and it was great, we talked to the florist and we tried cake.  We were very impressed with everyone we spoke to and we liked everything a lot!  So we are having an appetizer buffett for dinner that night, which will include:
1. Stuffed Mushrooms
2. Spinach/Artichoke Dip
3. Sandwiches
4. Chicken Tenders
5. Veggie trays
6. Fruit Trays
7. Salad
8. Swedish Meatballs

I have no idea what I want the cake to look like yet, so I'm planning on doing a little internet research for that.  We will have chocolate and vanilla layers, and I'm pondering between carrot and pumpkin for a sheet cake.  I love them both, so it's a hard descision!

The flowers will be all white and LOTS of greenery.  Actually, they will be more green than flowers!

The Honeymoon Decision

We booked our honeymoon!!!!!  After reading thousands of reviews (seriously, Brandon did that, not me!) and lots of pros and cons lists (I know, I know) we decided on El Dorado Maroma Beach Resort.   Every option just looked so good, it made it VERY hard to decide!!  It was hard to weed out anyplace that was a tropical location, because we knew anyplace we chose would be amazing!

Anyways, El Dorado Maroma is located on the spectacular Maroma Beach in the Riviera Maya of Mexico, and it’s considered to be one of the Top Beaches in the world by independent reviewers, including Travel Discovery Channel.  It’s about 40 minutes from the Cancun airport and 10 minutes north of Playa Del Carmen.  El Dorado Maroma also shares premises with Marina Maroma Paradise which offers a wide range of water sports, tours, day and night activities only steps away.

The resort only has a mere 72 rooms, so it’s a very small place!  We actually booked a swim up room which connects by lazy river to the main pool.  We plan on leaving the Sunday after the wedding at 6am and we arrive in Cancun at 11:15am, so we should be to the resort and on the beach by 3!!  We will be there until the following Sunday, so it’ll be an awesome 7 day get-a-way!!

We are panning on registering on a honeymoon registry web site, so you can give us wonderful gifts of massages, snorkeling trips, candlelit dinners, etc. instead of dishes!!  But, we are still registering for stuff like dishes, don’t you worry!  We also went through a travel agent that was recommended by a friend of mine.  We thought we could get some amazing deal by booking it by ourselves using the internet, this was not the case!  The prices she gave us were way lower than anything we found on our own!  So, if you ever need a referral, try Honeymoon-Hideaways.  We worked with Vicki and she was awesome!

My Dress!!

So.....I found my dress last Saturday and we bought it!!!  I don't want to post up a picture or the name of it because I don't want Brandon looking at it!  :)  If you need a pic, email me.  It's gorgeous and I'm REALLY happy I found it so quickly!!!

Honeymoon Thoughts

So.....we have been looking at Sandals resorts tonight.  Ocho Rios is by far the BEST deal for the money and we, more I, like to get good deals.  Ok, so I'm cheap....and I'm ok with that.  Has anyone been to Ocho Rios??  I was supposed to go there once on a cruise and we got side tracked because of a hurricane.  We need your thoughts.....

Church Class

So, we had a pre-marriage class, class tonight.  It was interesting to hear what they had to say and tell us about what all we have to do to get married in the Catholic church.  I'm a little surprised there aren't more hoops for us to jump through!!

It sounds like it will be really good for us and we should learn a lot about each other!!

SCORE!!!! I found my dresses!!!

Oh My GOD!!!!  I found a store in town that carries the Rosa Clara collection!!!  AND, they even have a few dresses from her TWO collection that I love, love, love!!!  I am SOOOOOOOOO excited!!  So, I made an appointment to go try on dresses next Saturday the 10th and 2pm!!

Also, I forgot to mention that we found our photographers as well!  We are using Lemon Lime Photography   I actually already knew one of the photographers, I love their work and so did Brandon.  We really didn’t need to look at anyone else...once we met with them, we knew we would be the right match up!  It’s going to be great having some one I know and trust taking the photos!!
